Jaw Surgery Update 1

So just got back to the hotel. Spent almost 3 hours talking with the doctor about the jaw and everything. Found out that I'm gonna need jaw surgery and as soon as possible so that means that I'll need to go this summer. There's about 4 things that he has to do to during the surgery, so it's gonna be a 7 hour surgery. It's gonna be awful, but I'm thankful that I have the best doctor in the world doing it. The recovery goes as follows: Fly in one day, the next day get molds for my mouth, do some blood work, and do some other tests. The next day have the 7 hour surgery, afterwards spend the next day in the recovery room. Then if I'm doing better I will be moved to the V.I.P floor in the Baylor Medical Hospital Center, where I will stay there for about 4-7 days as long as I am doing well. Then I will remain in Dallas another week at either a Hotel or a Ronald McDonald house type place where I can visit the doctor everyday to remove rubber bands, bandages, ect from my mouth for the next week. Then I will fly home. 3 or 4 weeks later I will fly back down to Dallas for the weekend and see him again, run some tests and just make sure that everything is going according to schedule. Then after that I will have to fly down again a year from the surgery for hopefully the final visit. We're right now trying to stay an extra day or 2 in Dallas because since I have allergies, I have to have extra tests done because they're gonna put metal rods and screws in my mouth, so the best place in the world where the doctor feels the most comfortable with is here in Dallas, so we just spent a few hours on the phone with the airline and we're seeing about spending another day or 2 in Dallas. We might get the tests done tomrrow, we're just not sure so we might just end up getting on stand by and just wait at the airport sunday or monday til we can get out. But this has been a good trip and I'm excited about learning more about this jaw surgery process and I'll be letting you guys know more about it as soon as these tests are done and we have a surgery date!

Peace out!
